Bible Images

I didn't think that the Bible would come so alive living here.  Sam was able to see a "manger" and donkeys at Christmas right on our road.  Just the other day they were "pruning" a tree right on the side of our house.  Sadly, pruning here means almost complete chopping a tree down.  A man in bare feet climbs it with a machete and chops down the branches.  So much of the past 4 months have been "pruning" for us.  What does it mean to be a family?  Or American? Or live and function in India?  What does it mean to live away from family and comforts?  What does it mean to be a Christian here?  We're learning.  Some days are more painful than others.  We just had our training to put us into Stage 2 of our language program.  The point is to move beyond survival language to more functional capabilities.  We're no longer babies but early toddlers :)

We are doing well.  The schedule we maintain each day is pretty full, but it's forcing us to use and learn Hindi.  We know the process is worth it.  Another form of pruning of course...the days are getting warmer here.  It's 85 most days.  We are rewarding ourselves for finishing Stage I of our language program by going to the foothills.  We will post pictures after our trip.

Thanks for your prayers, emails, and encouragement.  We couldn't be doing this without you.  I will post pictures today too.
