Oh the changes upon us...
It's been quite the week so far. I would say we're doing overall well, but this is definitely hard work. If I was up to my usual energy level, I would say this would be much easier. After not sleeping the last 2 weeks of pregnancy from 2-5am, having an intense labor experience, staying in the hospital, and coming home to a incredibly sore body and new baby...it's been a little more difficult. We're making it though. I think I've pulled through the engorged stage of breast feeding, Sam is only 4 ounces from his birth weight (doctor says he's acting more like a 1 month old), and Chris and I have come together as a team. I'm thankful for the week together. He's been going to class at Trinity in the morning, and then coming home the rest of the day. I look forward to him coming home just to have extra hands and someone to process with!! God's good to us...and it's amazing to think Baby Sam is experiencing his goodness for the first time. Every time he sees something new...it's the first time!! I can't wait to take him on his first walk, but I think it will take a little longer than anticipated. I can finally walk around around our apartment with only some pain. Crazy. May we raise him to trust in God's goodness and grace. His parents have definitely seen it time and time again. Thank you God for a healthy baby, a safe delivery, and that we live in a place with people that care about us. He's taking care of us.

The pain does get better....I know your whole body hurts and the days (AND NIGHTS) seem really long now, but my they just grow so fast and change so quickly. Enjoy every little eye flutter and smile and stretch as it will disappear too soon. It is okay to just BE right now - give yourself that luxury to just sit and rest, nap when he naps and not worry about getting anything else done. Dirt will always be there to clean later ;0.
