Sam's 3 week pose...
We had a Sam weigh in this week. On Monday he had his 2 week check-up. He went from 9lbs 2 ounces at birth to 10 lbs 6 ounces. That's a record! The doctor is encouraging me to spread out his day feedings to every 2 hours, but he doesn't always make it. He has been super fussy this week, and it definitely amounts to a lot of gas. I've done a lot of reading...and I learned from La Leche that I have an overactive letdown reflex and that Sam is probably suffering from lactose abundance. All that to say I have too much milk and Sam's a horrible burper (so the gas builds up). He such a sleeper eater...even without clothes on...that he's not taking in enough of the hind milk. We've had moments of reprieve, but then I get tired in the middle of the night of burping him for 15 minutes. We'll get there. They say the gastrointestinal system is immature until 3 months. I definitely am learning the value of unconditional love :), especially at 2 am.
I started BSF this week too. I'm excited to study Isaiah this year and meet other Christian women in the area. My BSF leader already let me borrow her ottoman for my glider and brought over soup. People have been taking care of us! We praise God for that. Chris and I have said to each other often, "This too shall pass..."
Hang in there Dana! I am praying for you. Raymin looks pretty thrilled to be holding Sam, super cute.
